Where to Go, How Long it Takes

You can cross the border with Hungary at the checkpoints: Chop-Zahony, Luzhanka-Berehshuran. The current queue status at the border can be tracked on the State Border Guard Service website https://dpsu.gov.ua/ua/map.

In Hungary, you can travel on toll-free roads, so there is no need to buy a vignette; just avoid the M3 toll road.

Fuel and Road Payment Costs

We recommend traveling to Debrecen and from it, avoiding toll roads. The vignette for a passenger car will cost 11 euros, and you will save 25-30 minutes.

If you prefer to travel on toll roads, you can read an article about Hungary for information on road payments.

The airport is small. The security check time is quick, around 15 minutes.

What to Do Next?

Calculate the fuel cost for your car in Hungary and independently calculate the fuel cost for traveling through Ukraine. Calculate the parking cost. Add these figures to the travel budget, even to the cost of tickets, to assess whether it is advantageous to fly from Debrecen or if it is more economical to fly from another city.
