Modlin Airport

Modlin Airport is located outside the city to the northwest near the town of Modlin, 40 km from the center of Warsaw. As of February 2020, the airport serves only one airline – Ryanair. Modlin is a relatively small airport. Here's the best and easiest way to reach the airport, where to leave your car, and how to calculate the budget for the entire trip to and from the airport.

How to Get There and Time Estimation

You can cross the border on the way to Warsaw at several checkpoints. Plan your route using Google Maps and determine the border crossings that will be the shortest for you.

From Warsaw, take the route 7 and then the S7 road. The airport is located near the S7 road, with an exit to road 62.

In Ukraine, the road to the Hrushiv checkpoint is in very poor condition, and in some places, you can only drive at a speed of 20 km/h. It is recommended to drive not directly from Yavoriv to Hrushiv but through the town of Nemyriv.

If you decide to leave your car in Warsaw, you can reach the airport by ModlinBus (40 min.) from Warsaw Palace of Culture and Science (near Warsaw Central Station). The fare is 33 Polish zlotys (33 PLN, € 7.6). You can find all the details about the bus in Ukrainian on the website: https://www.modlinbus.com/ua
Alternatively, you can take a train with a transfer to a special bus in Modlin. Tickets can be purchased on the local railway website: https://www.mazowieckie.com.pl/en. Choose a ticket directly to the airport, and the bus fare to the airport will be included. For example, a ticket from Warsaw Central to Modlin Airport will cost 19 zlotys (19 PLN, € 4.4), two tickets — 21.2 zlotys, three tickets — 23.2 zlotys, with a travel time slightly over an hour.

Parking lots 1 and 2 are within walking distance of the terminal, and parking 7 for long-term parking is located 3 km from the terminal. A free transfer from parking 7 to the airport terminal is provided.

Insurance

Green Card Insurance

For traveling abroad, it is mandatory to have a "Green Card" insurance policy. Policies are available for a term of 15 days, 1 month, 2 months, etc., on a monthly basis up to 1 year.

A 15-day policy costs approximately 25 euros.
